We started our final morning with an active start, followed by cleaning our cubbies out and received all the hard work we have created this term in a blue folder!

Students had their final words their way test of the year!
In math students learned how to read three different types of charts - tally, picture, and bar. We paired up with Mme. Clavelle and read in the dark with our flashlights! This afternoon we finished our Elf Yourself and began watching Polar Express. We will continue this tomorrow afternoon. Agenda:
Ilay: 1-2 types of cheese cut up Leah: baking (homemade or store bought) Carter: choice of snack Stacey: plates and napkins This morning we completed a few TUSC presentations that were missed the day of. We estimated how tall Mr. Stadel's Christmas tree during estimation 180. Students were challenged to a $hop Till You Drop math activity. Students searched through flyers and found items that they 'want'/'wish' to buy for family members. They are to add up the total of all items - ignoring the cents.

Those who stayed back worked on a math problem and learned about magic squares. Students then brainstormed words associated to winter, followed by a word search.
Before lunch we recieved a package from Globe Trot Scott from France! We learned how to draw the Eiffel tower, and tried buche de noel (chocolate cake). This afternoon was the dress rehearsal for the holiday concert tonight. **Parents sit on the right when you are facing the stage!!** Agenda:
Ms. Bruce was away yesterday. Today we learned how to use chopsticks and tried sushi!
Before lunch we celebrated our PATHS kid and discussed about the different effects we may have when we are angry. This afternoon was a school dress rehearsal for the holiday concert and we completed our Globe Trot Scott ornaments that he left for us and brought them home! Agenda:
Students had library to begin the day, followed by reviewing more addition strategies in math!
During daily 5 students had the opportunity to practice their speed sort for WTW and wrote. This afternoon was full of fun - we had our last TUSC presentations of 2019 and had our Japanese Tea Ceremony! Agenda:
We began the day with morning meeting and shared an interesting fact we have learned during our Japan presentations yesterday. During daily 5 students read to self and sorted their new WTW. In math we completed estimation 180. Before lunch we read a book Globe Trot Scott recommended for us called The Littlest Matryoshka.
This afternoon we looked at more facts about Japan such as what archipelago means, what currency they use, and even watched some videos about their daily life! Agenda:

Students glued their old WTW words into their duotang to be a part of their dictionary and received their new words.
In math we completed estimation 180, and practiced the strategies of sums of 20, and add with tens pairs. We received another package from Globe Trot Scott today - he's in Russia! In science we completed an experiment that proved that gases have mass and watched Bill Nye talk about matter. Students presented their Japan inquiry research to the class as well. Agenda:
We started our day with completing our Japan inquiry with Mrs. Perron, followed by PATHS. Before lunch students had their second WTW spelling test!
