In math students had time to continue their multiplication mystery colouring photo - we are starting to try and solve these facts without using all four strategies we have learned about. Ms. Austen shared a story about feeling guilty during PATHS.
This afternoon during Daily 5 we read to ourselves and continued a story we have previously began. Students are highlighting their periods to ensure that they have a capital after it! We wrote our first T.W.A.S. of the year to end our day before the long weekend. Agenda:

During Daily 5 students read to someone and wrote in detail a time when they felt angry. We began to complete sentences with certain punctuation marks.
This afternoon students worked on their Rat art, and we began to think about facts that we know about animal growth and things we want to know! Ms. Bruce will be away tomorrow. Agenda:
We began the day with morning meeting, followed by tri-conference reflections!
Students worked together to complete a problem solving question with multiplication and even used a ruler to display what 4 cm and 20 cm looks like. This afternoon was T.U.S.C. and students continued to work on their Rat art. Agenda:
We began our day with active start, and going over the W.T.W sortment. Today we worked on a Chinese New Year booklet, and even painted a photo of a rat with markers! We all completed our snow globe art - stay tuned to see them at tri-conferences next week!
In math we had an array scavenger hunt around the classroom and school. We also played an array game with our buddies to practice our multiplication skills! Agenda:
We began the day with a morning message, followed by daily edit. We spent time going over 8 different punctuations that we consistently use.
During math we looked at real life life arrays and solved the multiplication equations. This afternoon we began painting our snow globes and will (hopefully) finish them up tomorrow! Agenda:
During PATHS this morning we practiced how our bodies might feel when we are upset, vs. being relaxed and calm.
In math we reviewed what 5 x 2 looks like, and corrected our multiplication word problems from yesterday! This afternoon students glued their WTW and wrote their spelling test. Baby Mila came for a visit as well and discussed how important sleep is! We ended the day with a continuation of finishing and planning out our snow globe stories/art. Agenda:

In math we represented 4 x 6 and began to work on some multiplication word problems. This afternoon students presented their countries, followed by a gallery walk for a closer look at the posters and then had to locate and colour the countries on a map - Poland, Great Britain, Cuba, India, Israel, Italy, Ireland. We ended the day with continuing our good copies of the snow globe stories, and then began to sketch our plan for the snow globe art! Agenda:
Students were provided time to continue their snow globe story drafts and completed estimation 180 - we reviewed how to read a ruler for measurement.
This afternoon during science we watched a video that taught us lots of information about the birch bark canoe! We connected our boat challenge with this video by referring to the shapes we used for our creations (streamline shape) and materials. In social studies, groups completed their country posters and will present tomorrow. Agenda:
We started the day with morning meeting. We played a game to practice our multiples of 3! We then rotated between handwriting and writing our snow globe story.
During problem solving we used multiplication in different ways to solve the problem. This afternoon students presented their T.U.S.C. and Mme. Baxter came for a Roots of Empathy lesson. We ended the day by testing out how strong our boats are. Some boats held up to over 50 marbles before sinking! Agenda:

In math we represented 5 x 4, and practiced our multiples by completing a maze. In science we tested all boats - they successfully floated! Tomorrow we are going to add some weight into them. We read with our buddies, and even played some multiplication games with 3C! Agenda:
