Home Reading Program
Students will receive a monthly calendar to track their reading. Simply colour a minifigure after reading for 15 minutes each day! Before the end of the month, ensure to complete the question on the other side.
A student's name will be entered into the monthly home reading draw for a prize if:
1) There are 28 or more minifigures coloured
2) The question is complete in full sentences
3) Parent's signature on the reading log

T.U.S.C.
The Ultimate Speaking Club program will take place every day 4 in the school cycle for students to plan, observe, and practice speaking. We will rotate half the class to present each week, therefore each student will present every second day 4! The goals are to improve confidence and ability to foster enjoyment of public speaking.
Here are some important information about our T.U.S.C. program:
- Each student will prepare and practice a mini-speech every second week
- T.U.S.C. jobs will differ from week to week
- Minimal time will be given for T.U.S.C. speeches to be written in class, but practice opportunities will be given when possible
The following jobs will be filled each week:
1) Chairperson - leading the meeting
2) Show and Tell - choose an item that you would like to share with the class
3) My Hero - explain who this person is and why he/she is important to you
4) When I Grow Up - tell what you hope to be (or be like) when you grow up and why
5) Travel Agent - a place you have travelled to or a place you would like to visit
6) Take Levi the Lion - take Levi to one of your favourite places, take a photo, write a speech from the lion's perspective and share with the class
7) Movie Critic - review your favourite movie and explain why you chose it
8) Wacky Animal - research and report information on an unusual animal to the class
9) Curator - present an item that you/ or family member have collected in the past
10) Current Event News Reporter - report on a current event from either Canada or anywhere in the world
11) Favourite Healthy Snack - prepare (or buy) a small healthy snack that you enjoy *please be aware of the class' allergies!*
12) Celebrity Facts - choose a famous person to research and share 5-7 fun facts about them and explain how they became famous
13) My Favourite Game - share your favourite game to play; board game, card game, phys. ed. game, etc.
14) Comedian - tell 3 jokes or riddles (remember the jokes has to be appropriate and not offensive to anyone inside and outside of school)
