Students completed a chart of situations different federal and provincial departments would deal with. Students used a form of classification - either Venn diagram, list, or t-chart to compare and contrast a ladybug and lion. We discussed how the lion is a vertebrate and has an endoskeleton, compared to the ladybug which is an invertebrate and has an exoskeleton. TOMORROW is Halloween! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rL0v-JtF9F4) During social studies, we reviewed the answers to a class worksheet. We then had a visitor who informed us that we need to come up with an UNESCO leader for 6B! So what did we do? We used our democracy knowledge and decided we will vote on our top three (out of 9 students) based on their one minute answer to the question: "What makes you a good UNESCO leader for 6B and why? I am so happy to share with everyone that I am impressed and proud for the 9 students who were put on the spot in front of their classmates!
